The dead bodies of 4 maoists, including 2 women maoists have been recovered so far after the police-naxalite encounter in Pomra forest under police station Mirtur in Bijapur



Chhattisgarh (Mirtur-Bijapur) Om Prakash Singh. During the joint operation of Bijapur DRG, STF and CRPF on 26.11.2022, between 07:30 to 07:45 in the morning, an encounter took place in Pomra forest bordering police station Bhairamgarh and Mirtur.



A large quantity of ammunition and explosive material including one 303 Bore Rifle, one 315 Bore Rifle and two Musketry Rifles were recovered from the spot.





Action is being taken to identify the Maoists killed in the encounter.



In view of the possibility of some other Maoists being killed and injured in the encounter, continuous search is going in the surrounding area.




                      
On 26.11.2022, DRG, STF and CRPF's joint party DVCM Mohan Kadti, Sumitra and Matwada LOS Commander Ramesh went to campaign against the Maoists along with other armed forces on the basis of intelligence report in village Pomra and Hallur under Mirtur police station of Bijapur district.



During the operation, an encounter took place between the police party and the Maoists in Pomra forest (14 km west of Thana Mirtur) between 07:30 to 07:45 in the morning.





Sundarraj P., Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Anjaneya Varshney, Superintendent of Police, District Bijapur and S.K.  Mishra, Deputy Inspector General of Police, CRPF (Operations), Bijapur while giving information to the media regarding the above encounter between police and Maoists, was told that after the encounter dead bodies of total 4 Maoists including 2 women Maoists and rifles along with large quantity of ammunition and explosive material were recovered. Action is being taken to identify the Maoists killed in the encounter and continuous search is going on in the surrounding area by DRG, STF and CRPF teams.
