3 Batallion NDRF Cuttack Odisha perform Famex & Community Awareness Mock Drill at Astha Vidya Mandir Jawanga
• 500 children of Astha Vidya Mandir and Kanya Shiksha Parisar Jawanga Geedam participated in the disaster awareness programme.
Chhattisgarh(Geedam/Dantewada)Om Prakash Singh . 3 Batallion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Mundali, Cuttack, Odisha under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India performed Famex and Community Awareness Program at Astha Vidya Mandir English Medium School, Education City Jawanga of Geedam in collaboration with Dantewada District School Education Department. Under the guidance of Team Commander SI Arun Kumar Lamba, a mock drill was performed on disaster relief.
Live mock drill was done jointly with SI Sushil Kumar and 5 other NDRF security personnel members. NDRF team gave information through mock drill on how to save from natural calamity earthquake, immediate rescue and relief to the lives of people during floods.
6 types of fire disaster prevention methods as well as information about various equipment used by NDRF was given. How to rescue the people trapped in the water, the rescue of the drowned person with the help of boat and deep diver was demonstrated. During mock drill, NDRF Security Members Ashish Kumar, Hridayanand Tarai, Kupli Kishore, Sanjay Mahadev, Ashwini Kumar Yadav demonstrated the uses of life jacket, bamboo stick, jerkin, water bottle, desiccated coconut during flood disaster. Along with how to avoid snake bite, CPR, first aid information during disaster was also taught. In this training program, the children learned about various equipment by doing practical basis.
The NDRF team asked various questions, then the team members were very satisfied with the answers given by the children. At the end of the program, the NDRF team was felicitated by Aastha Vidya Mandir Jawanga by presenting a momento.
Principal of Astha Vidya Mandir Gopal Pandey, Vice Principal Pramod Gupta, Program Coordinator Lecturer PGT Amujuri Biswanath, Superintendent Raviprakash Thakur, Eklavya Sports Academy Superintendent Rajneesh Oswal, teachers of Astha Vidya Mandir and Kanya Shiksha Parisar Jawanga and 500 students were present during the Famex and Community Awareness program.
