Chhattisgarh ( Geedam/Dantewada ) Om Prakash Singh .  National Technology Day is celebrated every year on May 11. This day commemorates India's successful nuclear tests that were conducted by Defence Research and Development Organisation on May 11th, 1998, at Pokhran, Rajasthan. Former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, known as the 'Missile Man of India', played an instrumental role in the Pokhran nuclear tests. 



This term was coined by former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to recognise the contributions of Indian scientists. Technology Development Board (TDB) commemorates the day by honouring technological innovations that have added to national growth. Expert Life Member at The Indian Science Congress Association Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India Amujuri Biswanath said that this year the theme of the 25th National Technology Day 2023 is 'School to Startups-Igniting Young Minds to Innovate.' National Technology Week is being organised as conferences, competitions, technology showcase and awards from 11 to 17 May 2023 across the country through hybrid mode. 



This program is organised by Green Care Society India in collaboration with Indian Science Congress Association, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation, Aastha Vidya Mandir Jawanga Dantewada, National Council of Teacher Scientist, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam National Council of Young Scientist, Raman Science and Technology Foundation, Igniting Dreams of Young Minds Foundation India. Schools, colleges, universities, research institutions and other Non Governmental Organizations organise events, seminars, and workshops to inspire and motivate students to take an interest in science and technology.

 

Director of GCSI Amujuri Biswanath also said that India has got 17th rank in Hi-Tech Exports of Products and World Intellectual Property Organization released Global Innovation Index where India has 40th rank in the world. India performs better in innovation outputs in 2023 than innovation inputs in 2022. In the 21st century, scientists and engineers are leading the country on the path of development. 



It is the technology that has improved the status of the country on global platforms. India shows technological advancements in various fields, including space research, defence technology, agriculture, healthcare, and communication.
