Chhattisgarh : Astha Vidya Mandir Jawanga celebrates Hareli Tihar with Chhattisgarhi traditional games



Chhattisgarh(Geedam/Dantewada) Om Prakash Singh . Chhattisgarh's traditional 'Hareli Tihar (Hareli Festival) is the identity of culture and literature for the well-being of all farmers and citizens. 



Government of Chhattisgarh has given guidelines to start Chhattisgarhiya Olympics 2023-24 with traditional sports and cultural programs. 



Hareli Tihar was celebrated with Chhattisgarhi traditional sports at Astha Vidya Mandir English Medium School Jawanga of Geedam block of district Dantewada. On the occasion of Hareli Tihar, Principal of Astha Vidya Mandir, Gopal Pandey gave greetings and best wishes to the staff and children. 



Hareli Tihar program was organized under the auspices of Astha Vidya Mandir Boys Hostel Superintendent Ravi Prakash Thakur and Girls Hostel Superintendent Sushma Das. Hareli Tihar was started by garlanding the Chhattisgarh Mahtari and worshiping the goods used in agriculture. 



Chhattisgarhi traditional games like gedi race, fugdi, pittul, tug of war (rassa khich) and football competition were organized for middle, high and high secondary level both boys and girls. The stage management of the program was done smoothly by senior teacher Amujuri Biswanath, PGT.  



In each discipline, the boy and girl winners and the winning group team were given 500-500 cash prizes by Superintendent Ravi Prakash Thakur and Superintendent Sushma Das. 



Teachers of Astha Vidya Mandir Ashimanand Baipari, Narayan Nishad, Hemant Sahu, Mithleshwar Jain, Mukund, Virendra Mandavi, Mansingh Samrath, Vikesh Baghel contributed their cooperation for the program. 



The students took part in the games with great enthusiasm and joy giving the identity of the culture of their village and Chhattisgarh. On the occasion of Hareli Tihar, sweets were distributed to all the students in the hostel.
